Southern Hills Plantation Club is a Private 18-hole golf course in a residential golf community located just over a half-hour north of Tampa in Brooksville, Florida.
The Southern Hills Plantation Golf Course first opened for play in 2006. The course was designed by Pete Dye.
Nestled within the rolling hills of Brooksville, Florida, Southern Hills Plantation provides a unique terrain. Elevations of 60 to nearly 250 feet make this a unique Florida golf course. Designed to maximize natural elevations and views, the private, 18-hole course is rated by Golf Week as one of the top 100 residential courses in the United States.
The 18 named holes are carved out of native oaks and magnolias of a former nursery and play around scenic conservation areas, ravines, and lakes with other natural buffers keeping the feeling of solitude for both golfers and residents. The par-5 seventh hole (named "A Fair Test") rises 40 feet from the tee to the landing area, then offers a stunning view down 40 feet in elevation to the green. Other aptly-named holes like "Devil's Bathtub" and "Grace Under Pressure" give Southern Hills instant character.
The Southern Hills Plantation Golf Course has generous course corridors, expansive landing areas and natural buffers that frame each hole. Pete Dye also designed the superb practice facilities including a driving range, chipping and putting greens, and a six-hole par three course.
Southern Hills is a par-72 challenge that plays to a maximum distance of 7,557 yards.
The course was home to the following: 2007 Canadian Final Stage Q SCHOOL, 2008 Canadian Final Stage Q SCHOOL, 2009 PGA TOUR 2nd Stage Q SCHOOL, 2010 PGA TOUR 2nd Stage Q SCHOOL, 2011 PGA TOUR 2nd Stage Q SCHOOL, 2012 PGA TOUR 2nd Stage Q SCHOOL, 2013 Web.COM 2nd Stage Q SCHOOL, 2007 US OPEN Qualifier, 2009 US OPEN Qualifier, 2010 US OPEN Qualifier, and the 2011 US OPEN Qualifier.

This is a great Pete Dye course that provides elevation changes that are rarely attainable in central Florida. The course is a great challenge that makes you hit every club in the bag, and usually any swing you can apply :)

Always a treat. Course is tough enough, but always a breeze/wind to make it tougher.

This is a fair, but challenging course that is well maintained and enjoyable to play. The golf and food service staffs are congenial, helpful willing to serve.

Breathtaking. Best course by far in the Tampa area and worth the going rate. Summer rates are low based on heat/rain.
